Who are we?

At Grendel, we create serious games that drive real change in healthcare, education, and sustainability. Our award-winning titles don’t just entertain—they make an impact.

We’re now looking for a DevOps/IT Engineer to keep our development running smoothly. From build automation to infrastructure support, you’ll play a key role in ensuring our team can deliver high-quality games with confidence.

Role Overview

The DevOps/IT Engineer is responsible for keeping our internal infrastructure running smoothly and ensuring reliable, repeatable build and test processes for our games. This role bridges build automation, technical release management, server maintenance, and IT support.

You will play a key part in enabling smooth development workflows, minimizing downtime, and ensuring that every release is stable and high quality.

Key Responsibilities

Build & Test

  • Set up and maintain automated build pipelines for Unity projects.
  • Configure and monitor automated testing workflows to catch issues early.
  • Ensure that builds are reproducible, well-documented, and delivered on time.

Technical Release Management

  • Coordinate technical aspects of releases, including versioning, build approvals, and delivery to platforms.
  • Collaborate with production and QA to ensure smooth release cycles.

Infrastructure & IT

  • Maintain internal server architecture and development infrastructure.
  • Manage hosting services, email systems, and software subscriptions.
  • Provide general IT support and troubleshooting for the team.

Qualifications

  • Fluent in configuring and operating Linux or Unix operating systems.
  • Experience with build automation tools (e.g., GitHub Actions or similar CI/CD systems).
  • Familiarity with Unity build processes for PC, console, and/or mobile platforms. Prior experience with game development pipelines is a strong plus.
  • Experience with server virtualization (such as Proxmox, Hyper-V, or VMWare) and application containers (Docker).
  • Experience with automated (game) testing through unit and/or integration testing is a strong plus.
  • Knowledge of scripting languages (e.g., Python, PowerShell, Bash) for automation.
  • Understanding of source control systems (Git, Perforce).
  • Ability to work part-time (24-32 hours per week) with flexibility around release cycles.

👉 If you do not possess all these qualifications but are enthusiastic about the position and eager to learn, we encourage you to apply. We believe a less experienced candidate with the right attitude could thrive in this role.

Send your CV to jobs@grendelgames.com telling us why you’ll be a great candidate. We look forward to hearing from you!
